The Pigeon on the Gate, The Drunken Landlady, Sporting Nell
I learned the Pigeon on the Gate off a Seamus Ennis recording long ago, when just starting the pipes. I played the tune one day while Kitty was making the tea. Hearing it she dropped everything, and the tea wasn't made until she had the tune under her fingers.
Shortly after, Kitty heard Noel Hill and Tony Linnane's recording of The Drunken Landlady on Clare FM, from which she learned the tune.
Almost by itself, Sporting Nell, learnt from Tommy McCarthy and from Mrs Crotty's recording, grew onto the set at a later stage.
