Hills of Coore, The Stack of Oats

Of the Hills of Coore, Junior Crehan wrote:

Gleeson's Pub stands at the foot of the hills
And there we play music and drink our fills
For its hospitality and its good store
I composed in its honour The Hills of Coore

We play it here in memory of the same place. So much more than just a public house, Gleeson's of Coore was a haven where music was played and sets were danced every Sunday night. Like all regulars, we regret its demise immensely.

The Stack of Oats was also composed by Junior, to complement the existing Stack of Barley and Stack of Wheat. He also composed a Stack of Rye to make up the quartet of Stacks.
